The 118 year old San Francisco law firm Heller Ehrman appears to be close to dissolving. The chairman of the firm explained that the board would vote on whether or not to dissolve the firm today. However, he also said that the vote would be mostly a formality, and that dissolution is imminent.

While large firms such as Heller Ehrman can generally survive both up and down markets, a mixture of several downward trends is leading this firm to dissolution. On September 1, the firm had over 1,200 employees and around 570 lawyers in its employ.
